Earth911 Inspiration: We Are Part of This Web of Life, Not Its Masters

Today’s Earth911 inspiration is from Pope Francis, who delivered a somber message about the state of our climate for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. He wrote: “Today we hear the voice of creation admonishing us to return to our rightful place in the natural created order – to remember that we are part of this interconnected web of life, not its masters.”

Dr Sphoorti Pai – An Inspiration to Young Doctors
Taking up medicine and becoming a doctor is a challenge for many youngsters these days, as the profession faces the onslaught of new diseases and viral pandemics like COVID-19. It also has to deal with social miscreants taking the law into their hands and physically attacking doctors for silly reasons.

Most of us had a special teacher that had a lasting effect on us, either for the knowledge they imparted, the wisdom they shared, the self-confidence which inspired us, or all of the above. The teacher who changed my life was my Hindi teacher Prabhat. He was very kind and always gave equal opportunities to everyone.
Zen Fable : Oneness of faiths

A university student while visiting Gasan asked him: “Have you ever read the Christian Bible?” “No read it
to me,” said Gasan. The student opened the Bible and read from St. Matthew: “And why take ye thought
for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I
say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. . . . Take therefore no
thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.” Gasan said: “Whoever
uttered those words I consider an enlightened man.” The student continued reading: “Ask and it shall be
given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh
receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.” Gasan remarked:
“That is excellent. Whoever said that is not far from Buddhahood.”
Interpretation
Spirituality always speaks the same language as the aim of all faiths is to reach the divine, whatever one may call it. This is what we all must recognise to move on the right path.
